The XLIV Ordinary Meeting of Heads of State and Government of SICA begins


This December 17, 2014, the XLIV Meeting of Heads of State and Government of the Central American Integration System (SICA) will be held in Placencia, Belize, in which the leaders will address issues relating to the five priority pillars: social integration, economic integration, institutional strengthening, democratic security, and integrated risk management and climate change.

Also at the meeting, Belize will hand over the Presidency Pro Tempore of SICA to the Republic of Guatemala, who will exercise it from January to June 2015.

In accordance with the Tegucigalpa Protocol, the Meeting of Presidents is the supreme body of SICA. This is held ordinarily every semester, and extraordinarily WHEN deciding the leaders. Since the admission of Belize to SICA as a full member, it has been called Meeting of Heads of State and Government of SICA.
